Emulating the co-operative housing sectors in Canada and Scandinavia could help ease the UK’s housing crisis, according to a new paper from Social Market Foundation.

Canada’s co-op sector is three times bigger than the UK’s, and co-ops account for almost a quarter of Swedish homes.

In the paper, cross-party think tank the Social Market Foundation (SMF) highlights the fact that the UK lags behind other English-speaking countries and Scandinavia when it comes to its share of co-operative housing.
