New research from Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute (AHURI) highlights the urgent need to re-imagine Australia’s social housing system, especially for older people and those living with disability, who are increasingly being left behind.
The research evidence shows that in the six years to 2022, Australia’s social housing waitlist grew by over 26,000 households, while fewer people than ever were able to access available homes.
